Do you still remember the “Guo Meimei Scandal” which has aroused national fury andmistrust toward Red Cross Society of China in 2011? However, it was just a start of theinfluence of network public opinion of China in changing the society. Now, nearly every day ortwo, there will be a new event heatedly commented by Chinese netizens through onlinefacilities.
Actually, network public opinion is the co-product of the interaction between two factors. For one thing, the highly developed internet has brought the explosion of information toeverybody’s life. With the gloomy prospect of returning to school, many students could suffer from post-holiday syndrome, which refers to a general feeling of depression before returning to campuslife, which is caused by irregular lifestyles during the holiday. Symptoms include fatigue, lackof appetite and concentration, irritability and a feeling of helplessness.
Various reasons can account for it. But most important of all, a large number of studentstend to overindulge themselves in eating, merrymaking and playing around during theholidays, which makes it difficult to adjust to their routine study schedule and life pace on thecampus.
My suggestions to deal with this syndrome are as follows. First, exercising and sticking to anormal schedule over the holidays will make a difference and nip post-holiday syndrome in thebud. Besides, it pays to return a few days earlier before the semester starts. The early returnseems to have kept the holiday blues at bay.
