With more and more people pay more attention to the appearance when they seek a job, we can’t help wondering is that appearance outweighs abilities? The answer is certainly not, throughout history, there are numerous examples of outstanding people with remarkable achievements who are just plain or not good-looking at all.
But why we emphasize the appearance or even put it in a relatively important place in job-hunting? Some people hold the belief that good-looking people seem to have advantages job interviews and have been given more opportunities than others. However, people against this point firmly believe that abilities are more important for it is always one’s abilities that create values that really matter rather than good looks, which are just easy on the eyes. Moreover, abilities grow over time while good looks only fade.
In my opinion, good looks are born by nature while abilities need to be gained through deliberate self-cultivation and years of hardworking which speak more of people’s true colors. So, it is unfair and unwise to judge a person just by appearance.

With the development of the e-commerce, more and more people intend to do the shopping online，college students are no exception, becoming a relatively strong chasing power.

What’s worse, paying too much attention to online shopping distract students from study, resulting in bad academic performance as well as poor self-development. While, some students objected, arguing that it is a way of releasing stress and online shopping do more good than harm to their life.
To conclude, college students addicted to online shopping is a certain outcome brought by the Internet economies yet could not be neglected. College students should treat online shopping seriously, utilizing it when in demand, never indulging in it and buy many goods without practical value.

Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay explaining why you prefer online (paper) reading to paper (online) reading. You should write at least 150 words but no more than200 words.

With mobile phones widely used in our daily lives, various Apps emerge. Reading has therefore become more convenient. However, different people hold different views toward online reading.
Though more convenient reading becomes, I like paper reading more than online reading. The reasons are as follows. Firstly, I cherish the moment keeping company with the book. When I bury my head into the book, the special fragrance of the book slips through my fingers, into my nose, then into my brain. How marvelous the feeling is! Secondly, I can take various notes on the book as long as I want to, which is not that easy to do when reading online. When I have finished reading the book, what I harvest will be not only the knowledge and idea the book conveys, but also my systematic thinking about the book, which can be vividly embodied by my notes on the book. Thirdly, paper reading won’t be distracted easily by irrelevant information which often emerges in online reading.
Based on the above three points, I prefer paper reading to online reading.
